David Judge from Affordable Staff and welcome to our RAW q&a session around outsourcing.

We’ve created these series of videos for businesses that have considered outsourcing and they have genuine questions or concerns that need answering.

The format? 3 questions and 3 answers based on over 250,000 hours of outsourcing experience.

Let’s start with the first question…

How Do You Help Me To Integrate My Outsourced Team Member Into My Business?

If you’ve already tried outsourcing then there’s a good chance it’s failed for you. There can be many reasons for this with  the most common reason that you couldn’t get it to work.

This can be as a result of the getting the right person, the tasks you were asking them to do, how your infrastructure allowed a person to fit within your business or simply cultural gaps. In fact, if you’ve used an outsourcing agency before you may very well have experienced hiring a person and then having them left to your own devices to figure it all out. This simply does not work and can be the downfall of your outsourcing experience.

When we work with clients, we develop an integration plan where we look at where you are at now, any gaps and how to bridge those gaps. This is initially performed between our local team in Australia and the client.

Once we develop that plan (including how you will stay in contact and the tasks) we use that as the foundation for your outsourced team member/s integration and for their supervisor to track the progress of their integration.

As a result of this process after a person starts within a team we can quickly identify and overcome any problem areas that arise by referring back to this plan.

We understand unless you have a dedicated process for integration that the whole idea of outsourcing may end up as a FAILED exercise so we’re mindful of importance of assisting the client to integrate the team member into their business.

How can I train my team member?

There are a variety of ways you can train your team member. We would normally identify the areas during the integration period, but once integrated you may want to offer additional upskilling.

The options here are unlimited. You may want to train face to face, which you could video conference. If you wanted to show a team member a process you can screen share with software like Skype or Zoom.

If you use a software like Zoom then you can actually record each session and upload to your intranet or cloud for your team to access down the track. This makes it easier for a team member to go back over existing training or for new team members to be upskilled in a process which can act as a huge time saver.

If you’re unsure around we have account managers that act as a support between your business and your outsourced team member.

What do I do if I need help training my team member?

We have a number of supervisors that are in the office every day and account managers within Australia that can co-ordinate with you on the timing and delivery of new training. They can help to arrange any training materials or special required sessions with specific trainers.

We also have access to online accredited training facilities where your team member can be trained / upskilled in a specific area on your behalf or you can arrange to meet with an account manager for other tailored training.

This is actually one of our key points of difference is our focus of support to ensure the communication channels between the client and their team member are open and keep flowing.

Ok, great, that’s it
