Eva Judge from Affordable Staff and welcome to our RAW Q&A session around outsourcing.

We’ve created these series of videos for businesses that have considered outsourcing and they have genuine questions or concerns that need answering.

The format? 3 questions and 3 answers based on over 275,000 hours of outsourcing experience.

Let’s get into it

If my company data is confidential how can I outsource?

This is a really good question and one we’re asked all the time.

Data security is critical for any business if it’s local or outsourced, and you need to ensure the place where you outsource to treats, your data with the highest level of integrity.

For example, we would normally strategise with new clients on their current structure, how they currently access their data.

There are a number of ways we integrate with our clients (for example Remote Access) which protects data and ensures you’re adhering to the Australian privacy laws.

To expand on security for our Philippines office… We lock down every staff members computer (including USB’s, sites they can access, etc.) and keep a history of any action each team member completes. We take snapshots of their activity which we (or the client) can refer back to at any time down the track.

We also have a separate area for each staff member’s personal belongings outside of their work area and have them sign a legally binding NDA (non disclosure agreement).

For those not aware, an NDA is a legally binding confidentiality agreement and is only enforceable if the office in the Philippines is set up the right way.

If you’re outsourcing, don’t be afraid to ask for PROOF on how they protect your data.

How do I know my outsourced team member won’t upskill and leave?

There are a few ways we’ve managed to greatly reduce this risk.

The first is in the recruitment process. We invest a lot of time in finding the best type of applicant, including a series of tests that include a psychological exam to vent out unsuitable applicants.

We also pay benefits, medical and holiday pay to all staff, offer upskilling plans and more.

This means you not only become recognised as a good employer it also means you attract the type of people that are looking for Job Stability and as a result, they don’t want to leave.

Do your team engage in any personal development?

Our team engage in professional and are greatly encouraged to engage in personal development due to the type of culture we’ve established in the office.

As a side note, we also arrange regular volunteering events for team members to participate in so they give back to the local community.

Ok, that’s it
