Eva Judge from Affordable Staff and welcome to our RAW Q&A session around outsourcing.

We’ve created these series of videos for businesses that have considered outsourcing and they have genuine questions or concerns that need answering.

The format? 3 questions and 3 answers based on over 275,000 hours of outsourcing experience.

Let’s get into it

Can I get people that speak multiple languages?

The vast majority of the people working within our Philippines office speak their local dialect and English.

At times we do receive requests for team members who in addition can also speak or write Mandarin. As 27% of the people within the Philippines have some form of Chinese ancestry, sourcing a suitable team member for your business can be a reality.

One important point to note when looking for a person is to make sure you fully test the person in their skill sets and have a person that fluently speaks the language to review their tests to ensure the person can complete the role.

How do I know if my business is big enough to engage outsourcing?

This really depends on ‘why’ you’re considering employing outsourced staff. A majority of tasks we handle for our clients are ‘support’ related.

For example if you have a new property management business you can use outsourced staff to assist with the marketing activities combined with processing of applications, following up rental arrears etc. This means you can focus more directly ROI tasks like filling your sales funnel, converting sales and essentially growing your business.

If you really wanted to get an understanding on whether your business is large enough you should talk to a company that has experience in outsourcing (like us) to get an idea if it’s the right fit for you.

How do I know if my business is ready for outsourcing?

It’s big decision to outsource and one that should never be taken lightly.

I have spoken to a number of business owners who have gone down that path in the past without success.

There were a variety of reasons why outsourcing failed them with the most common being:

  • They employed the wrong person for the job
  • They didn’t ‘engage’ the outsourced staff member
  • They did not communicate effectively and did not assist them with their training needs
  • The employed an outsourced staff member who had no local supervision
  • The employed an outsourced staff member who didn’t have an adequate infrastructure to perform the role

So, we’ve found these are really the questions you need to answer if you want to understand if you’re business is ready.

Talking to a person that has proven outsourcing will give you insights into the gaps you have in your business and ensure you get the best results if you decide to go ahead with it.

Ok, that’s it
