An Independent ISO Auditor’s Perspective on Affordable Staff

Seth Shea has been auditing Affordable Staff throughout our ISO journey. In this video, the independent ISO Certification Auditor shares what he has observed over the years of auditing our systems, processes and team, and how our approach to quality, information security and continuous improvement has evolved along the way.

To maintain our ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications, we undergo an independent onsite audit every year. These audits help ensure we continue to meet internationally recognised standards while identifying opportunities to strengthen and improve the way we operate.

Why this matters:

For our clients, it’s independent reassurance that the systems and processes supporting their business are being regularly assessed, from quality and consistency through to how their information is protected.

For our team, ISO isn’t simply about passing an annual audit. The principles of continuous improvement are built into the way we work, from training and leadership to communication and our day-to-day processes.

And as Seth shares in the video, that commitment is something he has seen grow year after year, describing Affordable Staff’s information security environment as “setting the bar” for many of the companies he audits internationally.

How We Protect Our Clients' Data

Since 2010, we’ve continued to develop our secure office environment in Bacolod City, Philippines to support Australian and New Zealand businesses, with security, reliability and business continuity at its core.

We have multiple layers of physical, technical and operational security in place to help protect our clients’ data, including:

Physical Office Security:

Onsite security is present at our office entrance, with controlled access in place to help ensure only authorised employees and visitors can enter the premises.

CCTV monitoring covers entry points and working areas throughout our office, providing an additional layer of physical security.

Access to working areas is restricted to authorised personnel, with controls in place for employees and visitors entering and leaving the premises.

Individual lockers are provided for team members to securely store personal belongings before entering production areas, helping maintain a controlled working environment.

Team Leaders and dedicated support teams are present onsite to provide guidance, support and oversight throughout the working day.

Risk Management Procedures:

On our company-owned devices, access is restricted so team members can only access authorised software, systems and websites relevant to their role and client requirements.

Our dedicated IT team manages and monitors our technology environment, with security controls in place to help protect systems and client information.

Local Australian-hosted document, procedure and data management systems are included, along with controls that track data usage, prevent data deletion and limit access levels.

Workstations are kept up to date and include activity tracking and monitoring software to provide visibility over work activity and help identify unauthorised activity.

From a people perspective, every team member operates under formal employment agreements, confidentiality requirements and policies governing the appropriate handling of client information.

These are just some of the security measures and processes we have in place to help protect our clients’ data.
